Black Rock Mountain Bike Area

Black Rock Mountain Bike Area is world-class mountain biking just to the west of Falls City. To access, head through town and up Mitchell Street. Continue for several miles, until you see a large archway on the right that reads "Camp Tapawingo." Please park in the designated area and walk your bike up the path towards the trail. More information on the area and its stewards, the Black Rock Mountain Bike Association (BRMBA), can be found on their Facebook page. The trail map is here.

Valley of the Giants

The Valley of the Giants is a 51-acre preserve deep in the Coast Range. Old-growth Douglas-fir and hemlock trees, some about 500 years old, can be found here. About 30 miles west of Falls City, the roads are unpaved and often used by logging trucks, so caution is advised. Visitors must call the BLM at 503-375-5646 for directions and road information. Information can also be found here.
